On the occasion of World Food Day 2025, to be celebrated on 16 October 2025, SchoolFood4Change invites schools across Europe to take part in a photo campaign inspired by the theme “Hand in hand for better foods and a better future.”
The initiative aims to highlight the daily commitment of students and teachers in promoting healthier, more sustainable, and inclusive school meals, while raising awareness about the importance of food that is good for both people and the planet.

Europe cannot afford to step back on the green transition. At the Europa Experience – David Sassoli in Rome, policymakers, institutions, businesses and civil society called for urgent action to strengthen the Green Deal and to integrate the revision of the EU Procurement Directive with binding criteria, as proposed by BESA – Buy European and Sustainable Act. It was a strong appeal for European unity at a time of geopolitical tensions and crucial industrial choices – with one clear message: public spending must become a driver for climate action, jobs, and European competitiveness.

Italy is taking a leading role in shaping the future of European public procurement. On September 24, the BESA campaign (Buy European and Sustainable Act) will host a public event in Rome at Europa Experience – David Sassoli, bringing together institutions, businesses, and local authorities. The discussion will focus on how Italy can contribute to the reform of European procurement rules, promoting sustainability, innovation, and industrial competitiveness. With European public administrations spending over €2 trillion annually, strategic procurement can reduce emissions, create quality jobs, and strengthen local supply chains.
