Public procurement and the green transition: Compraverde 2026 to be presented at the Chamber of Deputies

25 April 2026

The role of public procurement in the green transition and industrial competitiveness will be at the centre of the press conference presenting the Forum Compraverde Buygreen 2026, scheduled for Monday 4 May at the Press Room of the Chamber of Deputies.

Now in its 20th edition, the Forum is one of Italy’s leading events on Green Public Procurement, an area that is gaining increasing relevance within European strategies aimed at guiding the market and supporting sustainable production systems.

In recent years, also in the wake of the energy crisis and geopolitical tensions, the European debate has increasingly focused on public procurement as a key economic and industrial policy tool. In this context, the discussion will also address the BESA (Buy European and Sustainable Act), which aims to strengthen the use of public demand to support European production and sustainability criteria.

The press conference will offer a first insight into the themes that will shape the 2026 edition of the Forum, scheduled for 27–28 May in Rome at the WEGIL Palace. Among the speakers are Members of Parliament Claudio Mancini, Eleonora Evi and Massimo Milani, together with representatives of the Ecosistemi Foundation.

The event will be streamed live at: https://webtv.camera.it
