The process of activating, engaging and supporting the stakeholders who will form the future INFEAS – Information, Training and Education on the Environment and Sustainability network, promoted and facilitated by Fondazione Ecosistemi, has been completed.
This is a key milestone, marking the project’s entry into an operational phase and forming part of a broader regulatory process aimed at establishing new centres for sustainability education.
At the heart of this work, the Foundation’s role was to build and support a structured participatory process, aimed at activating a diverse network of stakeholders and identifying, in a collaborative manner, needs, skills and visions. This work began with mapping stakeholders and building a comprehensive reference database, and developed over the months through regional meetings, opportunities for discussion and listening activities.
Rather than a training activity in the traditional sense, the initiative represented a process of facilitation and alignment between different organisations, now called upon to contribute to the development of a new model of sustainability education. On the one hand, organisations with established experience; on the other, new stakeholders entering this field for the first time. The work therefore required enhancing existing resources while simultaneously guiding all participants towards an updated and shared approach.
In this context, Fondazione Ecosistemi also supported the identification of the key training needs of the operators within the future network, helping to identify priority themes, skills and areas on which to build future programmes. Among the methodologies used, the “triangles of the future” approach guided participants in reflecting on the evolution of environmental education, highlighting the shift from a predominantly naturalistic focus to a broader vision capable of integrating the social and economic aspects of sustainability.
The programme will continue with a webinar scheduled for 13 April, during which the results of the participatory process launched in recent months will be presented, with a specific focus on the role of communication in environmental and sustainability education programmes.
A further opportunity for review and relaunch will be provided by the Forum Compraverde Buygreen , where, one year on from the network’s launch, it will be possible to take stock of the work carried out and initiate a new phase of activity development.
